- Annotation: The article comprehends the reception of A.I. Ertel of hotel images, ideas, themes of A.S. Pushkin. The relevance of the work is connected with the lack of knowledge of Ertel’s heritage, with the lack of research on the artistic continuity of Ertel’s works in relation to the Russian classics. Special attention in the article is paid to the image of a real aristocrat, the folk theme of Pushkin and Ertel. Key parallels in the themes and components of figurativeness in the article are considered using the example of various artistic works of Pushkin and Ertel, in addition, the image of Pushkin in Ertel’s letters is analyzed. A key difference is noted in the views of Ertel’s heroes and the narrator in his works; it was the latter who was close and understandable to Pushkin’s position. It can be argued that the revolutionary sentiments of the last third of the 19th century. Ertel was associated with the image of the Russian rebellion, that it was precisely after Pushkin that Ertel depicted the poles of the Russian soul.
