Annotation: The pragmatic aspect of the study of modern folklore texts is due to the ability of these texts to produce a communicative effect with a minimum amount of textual content, to evoke pragmatic attitudes towards the message in the receptor. The purpose of the work is to conduct a pragmatic analysis of the modern folklore text, including the determination of the author’s position, the pragmatic setting of the text and the types of pragmatic meanings of words. The research methods are linguo-sociological and comparative; semantic, structural and interpretive methods are used to conduct a pragmatic analysis of a modern folklore text. In the course of the study, the definition of school folklore and Internet lore was given, and a scheme for a pragmatic analysis of a modern folklore text was developed. The research material is classified by genre. The author comes to the conclusion that the plot ‟to do homework” have a pragmatic effect on the recipient of information.
